When you’re traveling to Scottsdale or Phoenix, Arizona, finding things to do can sometimes be a challenge. We may not have a beach, a huge city, or multiple monuments that you can visit all in a day’s play, but we do have plenty of activities and sites that you can enjoy right in the backyard of the vacation home you’re staying in. The real question is, how do you plan the most perfect day in Arizona? Well, we have it all planned out for you!

During Arizona’s fall and winter months, the weather tends to always cool down in the mornings to fifty degrees or lower, which is ideal weather for hitting the trials! While every trail is great, Tom’s Thumb is one that sticks out the most in Scottsdale. The trail is four miles long and surrounded by natural beauty at every turn. The trail does allow dogs if you bring your furry friend along, but just make sure he or she is on a leash. Long hikes always stir up big appetites, and Snooze in The Kierland Commons is ready for it! Open from 6:30 to 2:30, the place always seems extra packed so make sure to prepare for a wait due to a no-reservations rule. Snooze takes breakfast to a whole new level with a huge array of pancakes and delicious benedicts. It’s an experience you won’t want to miss!

Once you’ve enjoyed a nice breakfast, take some time and travel down into the heart of Scottsdale and indulge in the shopping experience that Scottsdale Fashion Square has to offer. The mall is three levels tall and has plenty of stores from Nordstroms to Free People. They also have a great food court that fits the needs of every person’s diet. Not only is Scottsdale Fashion Square a gem within itself, but the mall is also close to a popular site, Old Town Scottsdale. Old Town Scottsdale is the home to plenty of museums and art galleries. With a western feel, you can always find plenty of fun souvenirs and goodies to buy for family and friends! After a long morning, make sure to take some time to go home to your vacation home, rest and refuel for an exciting afternoon!

It’s important that while you stay in Arizona, you take advantage of all the weather has to offer. Warm or cold, pool season is all year round! All of our vacation homes either come with a pool or one close by, so taking a dip can be a breeze. Not only can swimming be relaxing, but it can be an adventure for the whole family. Make sure to invest in some pool toys when you arrive to ensure a great time!

One of the best things about Old Town Scottsdale is the wide range of food that you can find around each corner. One of the most popular spots for food in the area is Cien Agaves. Located near the iconic Sugar Bowl, this makes the restaurant a great stop before indulging in a yummy treat. Arizona is known for having great Mexican food and Cien Agaves makes sure to live up to those standards. From homemade guacamole to countless tacos, Cien Agaves continues to go above and beyond with every dish! If you still have room after indulging in a great meal, Sugar Bowl makes for a great sweet stop after. This old-school style dessert shop is a place that every person in Scottsdale and Phoenix, Arizona never forgets. The Sugar Bowl was created back in 1958 and has been a gem in Old Town Scottsdale ever since. Their menu has something for everyone from floats to sundaes. It also makes for a great place for pictures!

One of the best things about Arizona is the culture that’s hidden within it. Both Phoenix and Scottsdale are home to some of the finest art museums in the valley. If you want to find a gallery closer to where you stopped for lunch, you may want to check out the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art. With their exhibits constantly changing, you never know what you may see. The museum also hosts plenty of events throughout the year, so depending on when you plan your visit, you may be able to attend one of their exciting events! If you’re looking to adventure a little more out of your comfort zone, Downtown Phoenix is home to the popular Phoenix Art Museum. This museum always has rotating exhibits, making for a unique and enjoyable visit. One of the best things about the Phoenix Art Museum is that it’s free on Wednesdays, making for a perfect date night for you and your significant other. One of the things that Arizona isn’t lacking is the amazing variety of restaurants that you can enjoy for dinner! Perfect for FOODIES! If you decide after venturing to Downtown Phoenix that you want to continue to explore the area, you may want to check out The Churchill on 1st Street! Made out of storage containers, the building contains multiple local businesses, small restaurants, and bars that everyone can enjoy. In the center of the building, there are plenty of places to sit and even a game of corn hole ready to play. If you decide to head back to the Scottsdale area, you may want to check out The Mission. With locations both in Kierland and Old Town Scottsdale, you have the ability to choose which part of Scottsdale will fit your night best. Serving a modern take on Latin cuisine that can’t compare to anyone else, their menu contains plenty of starters and entrees that everyone will love. They also have a fantastic drink menu to help get the night started! Just be sure to make a reservation before you go.

After a yummy dinner, dancing is always the best way to work off a meal. Old Town Scottsdale is fully equipped with a large array of nightclubs that will make for a fantastic evening. The first nightclub you may want to check out is Dakota. This nightclub is perfect for birthdays, celebrations, or a night out with friends.

Their atmosphere and bottle services are fantastic, and the music will have you grooving all night long. Dakota also has an event every Wednesday called “Why Not Wednesday’s” which is perfect for getting over a hard bump in the middle of the week. Another great club is Degree 270 on the 14th floor of the Talking Stick Resort. With an amazing view and great music, you are always guaranteed a fun night out. The drink selection includes top-shelf spirits, award-winning wines, and plenty of champagne for you and your friends. The club is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 8 pm to 2 am, making for non-stop fun all weekend long. Degree 270 also offers a VIP bottle service to groups of eight or more, so grab a handful of friends and raise a glass to a great evening!
