There are actually many reasons why The Platinum Experience recommends renting a home over an apartment while you’re traveling….

The first big advantage of a home vacation rental is the privacy it affords you. Although apartments are fine to rent, a home will ensure you, your friends, and your family have total privacy. You won’t have to worry about navigating around other guests.

Another reason to consider renting a home is all the additional space you’ll have access to. Even the nicest apartments have space restrictions, which can be a problem if you’re traveling with a larger group. Renting a home comes with the advantage of larger rooms and spacious living areas that are ideal for families or groups of friends.

Finally, the last reason we will list for today is that you’ll want to consider a home rental is that homes are competitively priced. For the money that you’ll spend renting an apartment, you can spend just a little more and gain all the advantages of living out of a home. It’s a great financial investment.

When considering what type of vacation rental to choose, really think about renting a home. The additional space and privacy come at a price that’s hard to beat. It’s a great way of guaranteeing that you and your guests will be able to vacation in total comfort!! Contact us or book directly on our website today!

Long hikes always stir up big appetites, and Snooze in The Kierland Commons is ready for it! Open from 6:30 to 2:30, the place always seems extra packed so make sure to prepare for a wait due to a no-reservations rule. The cities of Phoenix and Scottsdale reflect Arizona’s western cultural roots and propensity for outdoor activity. As the capital of Arizona, Phoenix is also its most populous city, with over 1.5 million people calling it home. It attracts many people yearly due it is lovely desert locales and its affordability.

Scottsdale also boasts an impressive track record. Labeled “the desert version of Miami’s South Beach” by the New York Times, it has a ton of activity for the younger generation. But don’t think it’s just for the young folk. Bankrate also listed it as the fifth-best place to retire in America.

So it begs the question. Besides the warm climate, what makes these cities so appealing to both young and old?

Magnificent Mountain Views and Trails

When somebody says “Go take a hike” in Arizona, you should definitely do it! In Phoenix, walk by canals and cacti in the warm sun. In Scottsdale, catch wildflowers in bloom as you hike along the trails. Just in case you think nothing grows in the desert, think again!

Vibrant Nightlife

Phoenix and Scottsdale have a bevy of successful bars and restaurants to choose from. And when I say “bevy”, I mean Bevvy, a Scottsdale pub where you can have a drink and watch the Arizona Cardinals play on over 40 HDTVs located inside. Phoenix also has its fair share of hangouts, including the groovy Linger Longer Lounge where you can sip one of their cleverly-named cocktails while listening to the DJ play vinyl records!

Art aficionados and history buffs are going to love what Arizona has to offer. Phoenix’s Heard Museum puts Native American art on display, from paintings and pottery to jewelry and textiles. Meanwhile, Scottsdale celebrates the Old West at its Western Spirit museum which has exhibits on cowboys, Indians, and early settlers of the area. It’s even been rated as one of the Top 10 Museums of the West by True West magazine.

New Places Open

New to the area? So are these restaurants! The Montauk in Old Town Scottsdale was rated the Thrillist’s Best New Restaurant in 2016. They serve classics like Fish and Chips and Mac N’ Cheese, but those that are a little more daring should try the Honey Jalapeño Chicken Sandwich. As for Phoenix, Binkley’s Restaurant was rated Best New Restaurant by the Phoenix New Times last year. Binkley’s is all about decadence so if you’re willing to splurge, this is the place to be. You’ll be served a 22-course meal, where you’ll move from a patio near Amy Binkley’s own garden to the indoor bar, and finally to a beautiful dining room. Fine Dining Establishments

Savor a four-course dinner with selections ranging from Seared Main Diver Scallops with sweet corn and basmati rice to Niman Ranch Ribeye garnished with caramelized cipollini onions and spiced hollandaise. In Phoenix, visit Caffe Boa. Opened in 1994, Caffe Boa only uses locally grown and organic ingredients in their dishes. Search its Italian-style menu and you’ll uncover lush salads like Rucola filled with arugula and sprinkled with fresh cracked pepper as well as their main courses like their Pollo Al Rosmarino, a rosemary-flavored half-chicken seared and served with yukon potatoes.

Burgers and Better Burgers
Those looking for something a little less fancy, the burger joints in Phoenix and Scottsdale satisfy without breaking the bank. Rehab Burger Therapy will give you a heart attack when you see its selections. Don’t worry, it will also bring you back to life with its taste. PB + J Bacon Burgers, Turkey Burgers, Philly Cheeseburgers, and even a Ghost Burger layered with ghost pepper jack cheese fill out its diverse menu.

Meanwhile, Phoenix-goers should sit at The Stand, a burger joint located in Arcadia. Grab a standard burger and an order of fresh-cut fries, then wash that down with a handmade milkshake and you’ll be giving this place a standing ovation. A Scottsdale location opened its doors in 2017.

Going on vacation is an exciting time, and picking out a vacation rental is just part of the fun. Deciding what to bring, however, can be tricky.  But for a family seeking a truly relaxing vacation, traveling with kids isn’t always easy. In order to have a stress-free getaway, consider the list below of must-haves in your vacation rental.

Having some extra ways to entertain your children on vacation is a must. By bringing a few key toys that your child loves, you will save yourself the stress and money of having to purchase new toys while on vacation. Consider a property like Red Rock views retreat in Sedona, Arizona; with the extra yard space, your child could kick a soccer ball around outside.

Art is a great way for a child to relax while on vacation. By bringing crayons, pencils, paints or markers in conjunction with coloring books or loose paper, you will ensure that your child spends his or her time wisely. The perfect place to do that is our quiet vacation sanctuary where the privacy is perfect for people who need some peace. Consider spending that peaceful time inside by making a vacation scrapbook with your child, remembering all of the fun memories you had together.

Getting out into nature is another great way to have a relaxing vacation. Don’t forget to bring the proper activewear for you and your family. The best thing about Arizona is that you can do things outside together that are skill building and offer a relaxing environment!

A few examples of fun outdoor activities would be golfing, hiking, fishing, swimming, or you might even consider bringing along your bicycles for a family bike ride. Or you might consider this inclusive family vacation rental with two heated pools and a playground. Also, we have many locations that offer a playground near the vacation rental for a fun way to let your children burn off some steam.

Relaxing by the pool is the best part of any vacation rental. In our outstanding vacation townhome rental, your rental is adjacent to a sparkling pool, perfect for you and your family. Don’t forget to bring all your pool necessities like swimsuits, pool toys, pool floats and snacks. Bring your camera, too, because you’ll be taking a lot of family pool-side selfies. There are many people who bring GoPro or waterproof cameras for exceptional footage and unlimited entertainment in the swimming pools provided in the majority of our vacation rental homes!

Bringing something familiar from home, whether a blanket or a picture, is a great way to help your child to relax in a new setting. Consider bringing a favorite pillow, stuffed animal, picture or sentimental object to help him or her enjoy the vacation better. At our exceptionally spacious house rental, with 5 bedrooms and 4.5 baths, your children will most definitely find a nice place to rest their heads after a fun-filled day.

Headed to Arizona? The Grand Canyon State is full of tourist attractions, including unique ghost towns that give visitors a chance to experience the charms and quirks of the Old West. If you’re planning a trip to Arizona, here are five ghost towns worth checking out.

Founded in 1877, Tombstone was the site of the infamous shootout at the O.K. Corral. Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday, and the Clanton brothers battled it out in the dusty streets, and now tourists can see the place where history was made. Attractions in this authentic Old West town include the Birdcage Theatre, the Gunfighter Hall of Fame, and Boothill Graveyard, just to name a few. Visitors can also see historic gunfight reenactments, ride in a stagecoach, or relax in one of the town’s many saloons.

Located along historic Route 66, Oatman is a former mining town turned bustling tourist destination. Attractions include Wild West shootouts, gold mine tours, and more than 40 restaurants and shops. Couples can even tie the knot in a “shotgun wedding.” One unique aspect of Oatman is the wild burros that roam the streets, greeting tourists and begging for treats. The friendly animals reside in the hills near town and are the descendants of burros once owned by prospectors who came to strike it rich.

Touted as the best-preserved ghost town in Arizona, Ruby is home to a number of historic structures including a schoolhouse, jail, and rustic homes. Visitors can also enjoy a variety of outdoor activities like fishing, hiking, and camping. Unlike Tombstone or Oatman, Ruby is well off the beaten path, and cannot be reached during heavy rain. Visitors should call ahead to ensure the town is accessible.

Established in 1893, Goldfield is a small ghost town nestled between the Superstition Mountains and the Goldfield Mountains. Here, visitors can choose from a number of fun activities, including gold panning, zip lining, and horseback riding. And no visit would be complete without a trip to Goldfield’s Mammoth Steakhouse and Saloon or Lulu’s Bordello.

Bisbee got its start in 1880 and is now a thriving community with a wealth of attractions. Visitors can raise the dead at the Bisbee Seance Room, explore nearby hills on a Jeep tour, or climb one of the town’s many canyonside stairs. And like any respectable ghost town, Bisbee is also home to a number of saloons ready to quench visitors’ thirst.
